In the forested lands of Massachusetts is a very special place tucked into a hillside. It’s a place where imagination and possibility flourish. Welcome to Drew’s Hobbit Hole. Seven-year-old Drew tends to his cozy space with great care. After six months of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery for Wilms tumor, a type of kidney cancer, he loves the empowering feeling of being in charge of this enchanted little world. Drew’s wish for a Hobbit Hole came together thanks to another kind of enchantment: the power of community. With a team of professionals including a local project manager; a construction crew from Cavalieri Construction, led by the mother of another wish child; and the creative owners of Wooden Wonders, time and resources were generously contributed to bring Drew’s wish to fruition. |
